There are many parts to a knitting project. Before beginning knitting patterns, it is a good idea to have a specific outcome in mind. Knit and purl stitches are part o a knitting project. In your instructions, the letter ‘K’ will stand for a knit stitch and the letter ‘P’ will mean to do a purl stitch. Pull a loop of yarn through a preexisting loop on the needle to make a knit stitch. Pull the yarn through the front of a loop in order to complete a purl stitch.
